Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers Sydney CBD

Dermal fillers are natural gel products that are injected to sculpt the face. As we age the natural tissues and substances in our face decrease and starts to lose its underlying support resulting in hollow areas, sagging of skin and wrinkle formation.

Dermal Fillers are injected to replace loss of facial volume and restore the normal contours of the face. The Dermal filler Injections also smooth out wrinkles and skin folds. Fillers are also used to enhance and beautify the natural curves and features of the face.

Some of the important areas of the face where fillers are used are lips, cheek bones, nasolabial folds, mouth corners, jaw line, sagging eyelids, tear troughs, chin crease and also other areas where wrinkles form.

Different products are used for different areas of the face and, depending on the product and area of injection can last from 9 to 24 months.

Questions and Answers

We understand that the cosmetic industry can appear daunting to newcomers, for that reason we have compiled a list of the most common questions we get asked in order to help answer any concerns you may have.

Are Anit Wrinkle Injections and filler injections painful?

The injections can be uncomfortable in sensitive areas however, numbing cream is applied before injecting and ice can also be used. We use ultra-thin needles similar to accupuncture needles and the injection techniques are developed for minimal discomfort.

Will there be swelling and how long does the swelling last?

The injections into the skin do result in minimal swelling and this is a natural process of the body protecting itself. The swelling can last a few hours and is usually resolved within a few days.

Will there be bruising and how long does the bruising last? When a needle is inserted into the skin there is always a chance that a blood vessel may be punctured and blood can ooze out and spread under the skin. However, the body puts a “cork” into a punctured vessel and the area of bruise is usually very small. Such bruises usually clear after a few days. Cosmetic injectors practice techniques to avoid such bruises and punctured blood vessels are rare.

Can men be treated?

The results of treating men with anti-wrinkle injections and fillers are just as pleasing as with women. At what age should one start cosmetic injectables? People are individual and there is no specific age to start with cosmetic injectables. Young people can use injectables to enhance their beauty and to prevent wrinkles and skin folds from forming. Older people can use injectables to restore lost volumes, reduce wrinkles and skin folds, and enhance sagging features.

If you're having a suspicious mole removed, the doctor should consider removing about 2 millimeters of healthy skin from around the mole. Doing so could avoid the need for a second surgery if the mole turns out to be cancerous, according to a new report.

"Although the vast majority of suspicious-looking skin moles do not turn out to be cancerous melanomas, once a decision has been made to remove a mole, there should be a clearer standard margin," said senior study investigator Dr. David Polsky. He is a dermatologist and professor of dermatologic oncology at NYU Langone Health in New York City.

"Our study shows that a 'one and done' approach with a clearly defined, slightly larger margin is safer and more effective in completely removing suspicious moles with a single procedure than the current non-standardized approach," Polsky said in an NYU Langone news release.
